What is the title of your class?
Ryan Boudinot’s Magical Grab Bag of Writerly Surprises. Also Master Class in Short Fiction. Also Stories Make You Feel Good.

People should take these classes if…
…they have a pulse.

Can your students connect with you on social media? If so, how?
Nope. I quit social media in February 2012.

Are any of your works online and available to the public?
Probably. There’s this invention called Google that helps find that sort of thing.

What’s your teaching philosophy?
Make all my students cry.

If you could only bring one novel, story, or poem to a deserted island, which would you bring and why?
I’d bring a guidebook that identifies edible and poisonous plants and animals.

What are you currently working on?
Getting Seattle designated a UNESCO City of Literature.

If there was one piece of advice you could give an aspiring writer, what would it be?

What do you like best about Hugo House?
The people.

What are you reading now?
Jane Jacobs’s The Economy of Cities.

If you could pair it with a beverage (alcoholic or otherwise), what would you choose?
Whatever it would be it would have to be locally produced.
