Here from her New York home—where she teaches at New York University—but back in a Seattle that she has called home, as a graduate of the University of Washington creative writing program (and winner of a Charles Johnson Fiction Prize) is debut novelist Sonya Chung. “Long for This World” (Scribner) is a powerful, poignant, intergenerational novel set in both a small Korean town and the U.S. (and other places on the globe).
