Spoken Word Scribes

Scribes will explore the craft of spoken word poetry, using Hugo House as a home base for an expedition into written expression and poetic technique. Together with Naa and Daemond, Scribes will engage dynamically with multiple aspects of writing for performance, and gain the community, skills, and confidence to perform their work confidently. Scribes will participate in quality programming that includes writing, editing and polishing drafts, arts-driven field trips, craft exercises, and exposure to a diverse range of poetic devices, contemporary and classic writers and performers. The session will culminate in a community reading where Scribes will have the opportunity to share their work! All skill levels welcome.
