The Art of the Nonfiction Book Proposal

Ever since the explosive success of In Cold Blood, the style of nonfiction that reads like fiction continues to evolve. For anyone who has a compelling story in mind, you’ll learn what editors and agents look for in a narrative nonfiction proposal and how to wrestle a concept for a book into a clear story. The instructor’s first book proposal went to auction with ten New York publishing houses and became a New York Times best-seller. She’s since sold additional nonfiction narratives, all based on proposals.

Beginning Fall 2021, we will be adding select in-person classes back to our course catalog. The majority of our classes will still be offered via Zoom.

If a class says IN-PERSON in its title, it will take place in person at our permanent home in Seattle.

If a class says ASYNCHRONOUS in its title, it will take place on Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform.

If a class does not have a marker after its title, it will take place via Zoom.
