All Levels | In this class, we’ll look at a range of work that combines image and text: book art, broadsides, illustrated poems, even mind-maps (Renee Gladman, Cecilia Vicuña, Kurt Schwitters, Kenneth Patchen). You’ll experiment with different multigenre forms and will leave the first session with the beginning of a project. In the second session, we’ll workshop one another’s works-in-progress and look at other examples of durational, interdisciplinary work as inspiration. Class will be a combination of survey/slideshow, conversation, and hands-on work time. No artistic ability is required; please bring an openness to possibility.
Beginning Fall 2021, we will be adding select in-person classes back to our course catalog. The majority of our classes will still be offered via Zoom.
If a class says IN-PERSON in its title, it will take place in person at our permanent home in Seattle.
If a class says ASYNCHRONOUS in its title, it will take place on Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform.
If a class does not have a marker after its title, it will take place via Zoom.
