Introductory | This course will introduce you to the basics of poetry. We’ll study imagery, sound play, tone, rhythm, and more. Assignments will consist of experiments corresponding to the theme for that week. Expect to write something for each class. Readings will consist of poetry from the 1500s all the way to the present day. The goal of the course is to give you a broad, wide-ranging introduction, and set you up to keep writing.
Beginning Fall 2021, we will be adding select in-person classes back to our course catalog. The majority of our classes will still be offered via Zoom.
If a class says IN-PERSON in its title, it will take place in person at our permanent home in Seattle.
If a class says ASYNCHRONOUS in its title, it will take place on Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform.
If a class does not have a marker after its title, it will take place via Zoom.
