Strategies for Editing your Memoir

You have a first draft of a memoir or personal essay. What do you do now? We will look at methods for expanding and deepening your writing in revision. We’ll discuss how to read what’s actually on the page (as opposed to what you think is there), how to discover what’s been left out, and where you can go further, be bolder, or find humor in your true stories. Whether you have a first draft completed or want inspiration to get there, this class will help you see your work with fresh eyes.

Beginning Fall 2021, we will be adding select in-person classes back to our course catalog. The majority of our classes will still be offered via Zoom.

If a class says IN-PERSON in its title, it will take place in person at our permanent home in Seattle.

If a class says ASYNCHRONOUS in its title, it will take place on Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform.

If a class does not have a marker after its title, it will take place via Zoom.
