Writing Alongside John Keats and John Clare

Intermediate | We’ll mark the 200th anniversary of the death of John Keats, the English Romantic poet with the most visceral connection to the senses and the shortest, most meteoric life, by writing alongside him and his contemporary, John Clare, who, with his rural background, lived in the world that other Romantic poets just observed. You can expect weekly prompts, read-arounds, and the instructor’s feedback on assignments. Required texts: John Clare, ed. Robinson, Powell (Oxford UP); John Keats: Complete Poems and Selected Letters (Modern Library).

Beginning Fall 2021, we will be adding select in-person classes back to our course catalog. The majority of our classes will still be offered via Zoom.

If a class says IN-PERSON in its title, it will take place in person at our permanent home in Seattle.

If a class says ASYNCHRONOUS in its title, it will take place on Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform.

If a class does not have a marker after its title, it will take place via Zoom.
