Writing Trauma

All Levels | Many of us write what haunts us—in order to heal, discover, exorcise, make meaning of, celebrate survival, and/or reach for connection. In a highly supportive environment we’ll explore access points to writing trauma, self-care for the process, and sticky issues of impact (on self and others). We’ll generate new work, focus significantly on craft, and discuss the joys and challenges of writing about trauma. Students will have the opportunity to receive feedback on their writing from the instructor at least once.

Beginning Fall 2021, we will be adding select in-person classes back to our course catalog. The majority of our classes will still be offered via Zoom.

If a class says IN-PERSON in its title, it will take place in person at our permanent home in Seattle.

If a class says ASYNCHRONOUS in its title, it will take place on Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform.

If a class does not have a marker after its title, it will take place via Zoom.
