Scribes Workshops & Writing Camps

Calling all teens! Whether you’re just starting to explore the world of creative writing or looking to learn new forms and skills, Scribes Workshops and Writing Camps will introduce you to the writing life and inspire your creativity. 


Scribes Weekend Workshops run September–May. Scroll down to sign up for our Winter workshops. Spring workshops are listed now and will be open for registration on March 10.

Scribes Summer Creative Writing Camps for 5th through 12th graders are held July through August. Early Bird Registration is open now! Programming includes instruction from accomplished writers, field trips, writing activities, and exposure to a diverse range of styles and forms. Camp sessions take place at Hugo House and at our partner organizations the Henry Art Gallery, UW College of Built Environments, Northwest African American Museum, and Youngstown Cultural Arts Center. Camps are listed below.

The grades listed for each camp refer to the grade into which the student is entering in Fall 2020.
